Avalon bolted after Cali, and passed her easily. He slid to a stop, cutting her off and forcing her to halt. Cali. We will find him, but please calm down. It will not help much if we aren't calm. He looked deep into his mare's eyes. He'll be fine. He nuzzled her then moved to where Daiquiri had been eating flowers. Putting his muzzle to the ground, the big stag found his colt's scent. He followed it for a bit, and found, to his great relief, that it headed directly north. Avalon sighed. Thank goodness. North was away from Dark land and towards more Light. He broke into a swift cantar, that eventually switched to a gallop. After about ten minutes, the colt's scent got stronger. A few minutes more, and Avalon could see a red speck in the distance. He galloped up, and then slid to a stop in front of the colt. Time to go.

Fear was embeded deep in her brain, her soul. Cali was a scared mare and that would always take hold at every opportunity. The calmness of Avalon helped her though. She was better as she followed behind him, keeping pace. The terror was still there, it would never leave, but Cali was in control now.
Hearing hoofbeats behind him, he turned his head, fear embracing the small colt. The horse was thundering to him. Daiquiri cowered as he felt trapped. Backing up to a bush, he realized it was Avalon, his sire. DADDY! You're here! The foal cantered swiftly to his father, hiding in the protection he provided. Cali came up behind him. Daiquiri sighed in relief, parents back.

Avalon craned his head around, nudging the colt that was still small enough to fit right in next to him. He chuckled, but a scolding look crossed his face. You need to learn not to wander so far. With that Avalon nudged the red colt toward his frantic mother. Sorry I frightened you. He had seen their colt's fearful look. The stallion height and speed did seem to scare some, even family. Avalon moved to Cali's side, Daiquiri between them. The stag glanced around, the trio where just outside his land. He wasn't sure if this portion belonged to someone, but he headed back at an eager pace.

He dropped his head, submitting. I'm sorry. I didn't know what to do... He didn't look either of them in the eye, feeling bad about being naughty. They took off, pretty fast, back home. Daiquiri ran straight up to his flowers. He mowed them down, looking for more right after.
She follow right behind Avalon, going home. She went right up to the river and gulped it down, filling her stomach, moistening her parched mouth. Tired, Cali walked to the cave. Dropping her bodice down, she let her eyes droop. She fell into a very light sleep.

Avalon followed the mare to their cave, calling for Daiquiri to stay close. The stallion settled down next to Cali as she fell into a light sleep. Avalon stayed awake however, just staring out over the ocean, and watching his colt's determined hunt for flowers. Avalon chuckled softly and the foal trotted around, muzzle to the earth. The big stag sighed and closed his eyes, but didn't fall asleep. Harks flicked around, as alert awake as Avalon was like this.

She twitched at random intervals during the night; sometimes they were the product of a summer bug, sometimes causless. The atmosphere chocked the planet with a black blanket. The fae would wake up occasionally through the night, not being a ble to even see the stag lying next to her. This time when she woke up, she cautiously got up, not disturbing any of the others. Cali meandered around, ending up by the water's edge. She watched the slight ripples that she could see, expecting to find the moon's reflection, forgetting it was a new moon tonight. The fine sand was still heated from the day's sunlight. The mare dropped her bodice, savoring the warm granules on her skin. She sighed, searching the sky. There was nothing there to find. What if there was never anything to find? What if life was just a dream? What if this was an afterlife? What if...? She went on a thought spree, solid sky inspiring.

Avalon had been in a fairly deep sleep, but eventually the summer heat combined with the annoying bugs roused him awake. He lifted his head, blinking the heavy sleep from his orbs. The stag shook his crest, mane flying wildly, and looked around. He quickly realized he was alone in the shallow cavern. Avalon stretched just far enough so he could see outside. He spotted Cali lying on the beach and could smell Daiquiri slumbering somewhere nearby. Avalon tucked his head back inside. He didn't blame the fae, it would most likely be cooler than in here with another body. The stallion stretched himself out on the cool floor of the cave, there was still a good amount of space inside, despite Avalon's size. He twitched his hark frequently, sometimes voluntary sometimes not, driving away a pesky fly that apparently didn't know when to give up. The stag sighed and fell back into a light sleep, no light from the moon to disturb his doze. Avalon snapped awake felrequently, not entirely sure why. Every so often he stuck his head out into the open, trying to figure out if what was bothering him was coming from outside the cavern, or was just him being jumpy.

She awoke at the break of dawn, pink light pouring onto her lazy bodice. The sunrise was beautiful. She could see now. Looking around, she didn't see anybody. Stretching, she got up and paced over to the cave, finding Avalon and Daiquiri curled up together. She smiled tiredly at her family. Trotting over to the apple tree, Cali spotted three perfect apples. Power built in her haunches, and, like a spring, she lunged up, power forcing her ahianst gravity. She snatched one of the ripe fruits. She did this again twice. The fae trekked back and forth twice, delivering the two stags their breakfast in bed. She giggled at the thought. Going back a third time, she chewed through her fruit, happy with the morning summer warmth. She walked lazily back to the cave, waiting for the duo to awake.

Avalon lifted his crest and opened his sleep-heavy eyes to pink morning light. He could feel Daiquiri curled up beside him. The stag turned his head and found an apple lying nearby. Avalon crunched through the large ripe fruit quickly, then poked his head outside. He spotted Cali ambling lazily toward them. Avalon stood, careful not to disturb the still slumbering colt, and walked over to the fae. He nuzzled her gently. Good morning, dear. The stallion gave a small sigh through his nose. Did you sleep well? The sun had barely risen, and it was already very warm out. It wasn't going to be a nice cool, breezey day. That was for sure. Avalon bent, swipping a mouthful of the lush grass. The only thing the sorrel stag didn't like about the south. Droughts caused by extreme summer heat. At least there was plently of fresh water streams around, and it was unlikely the ocean would leave off a summer downpour long enough to call any lack of rain a drought. Avalon swished his tail, waving away a couple pesky flies.

A smile lit up her maw, finding Avalon awakening. The fae nuzzled him back lovingly, the warm smile on her face all the while. Her umber eyes trailed to Daiquiri for a moment and back to Avalon. She was awestruck admiring his appearance in the morning light. The pink sun fell onto everything in it's wake, adding a peachy tone to everything in sight, Avalon included. The deep red of him added to the pink made the most gorgeous deep coral color. Cali realized she had been staring for some moments and snapped back to reality, a cute, flirty smile playing on her maw. The beautiful stag adressed a question to her, and so she thought to answer. Very well, my love. A grin fueled by love and admiration spread across her face. Sorry that I left so early, the beach was just so...beckoning. She mused aloud, unable to explain herself further. It was a beautiful sight, an unseeable beach, but she could not understand, nor explain, what had brought her there.
Harks flicked back and forth; the product of summer flies. In the cave, sleeping soundly, the sun dare not touch. The walls blocked it's rays and provided a cool getaway for the colt to slumber. Eventually, though, he awkoe for plain sake of awakening. Morning called, sharpening his senses to the full, normal day functions. His eyelashes fluttered as he opened his umber eyes. Daiquiri had inherited his eyes from his mother. They were very light for an equine, almost orange. Inside the orange, flecks of dark brown could be seen, adding intensity to glances handed out by the two specimen. They also served their purpose. The colt blinked his eyes a couple of times against the sunlight reflecting off the sand. Once his dangerous eyes adjusted, he chewed through the fruit without question, standing himself up and heading straight for the lusher parts of grass. As the sun beat down on him, it added peach to his already pink-ish coat, warming him up very quickly. As he warmed too much for his liking, he trotted purpousfully over to the ocean, laying down on the coastline, just where his body would be submerged most of the time.

A smile spread across the stag's maw as he stepped back, admiring the beauty the rising sun added to the fae's coat. Stretching his neck, Avalon spotted Daiquiri finally dragging himself from the cave and out into the summer heat. The stallion chuckled, twisting his harks to catch his fae's words. Do not appologize, the beach is very beautiful in the morning. Avalon bent his head and swiped a mouthful of grass. It was early morning, and it was already quite warm out. No doubt this was going to be a hot day. Picking up a lazy trot, Avalon moved beneath the shade of a nearby tree. He continued grazing there, leaves and branches creating an shadowy pattern across his back. The stag swished his long banner at a couple of flies trying to settle on his flank. Chocolate orbs kept a careful eye on his family. Daiquiri snuffling in the grass nearby, Cali lounging nearby. Avalon felt a warm breeze lift his thick mane off his neck. He gave a content sigh, enjoying the gentle wave of air as it blew by.
