Avalon galloped in the the center of the clearing. Rearing high, he bugled loudly claiming this land for his herd, and his only. He had found it. The perfect place. The perfect home, finally, after their several days of traveling, they where home. Immediately Avalon dropped into the thick grass and rolled. Standing again, he gazed around his lands. He could see the coast line and shimmering blue ocean, the creek that ran through the lush field, with tress dotting the interior. Even the edge of a bordering forest. Looking far off into the distance he could spot the lands of other herds, to the north and east. Avalon turned toward his fae, who he sensed was behind him. Do you like it, Cali? I think it will be perfect for us! He said, nuzzling his mare. The afternoon sun shone off their coats, turning his a deep red. Gazing about, a smile spread across his maw. Home at last.

Cali was pursuing life behind her leader. She whinnied with glee as Avalon lengthened his legs to the sky. She scanned the beautiful atmosphere. Sparkling blue liquid connected the white sands of land life to the blue waters of aqua life. Thick grass was all around, this land was virgin. Untouched by any herd before, it was stunning. I LOVE it! It certainly IS perfect for us! Also will be perfect for many others. Our herd shall grow with a strong leader like you. I will help, if need be. Cali would help hunt for mares. The fae would help raise the population of their own blood. She would fight to protect. Cali wasn't scared to do any of those things. She was hoping she would be able to help grow their size by their own blood, Darks had prevented that in all the herds before. Cali would fight any intruders; she was cunning and smart from experience before. She would help in any way asked.

Yes, no one can sneak up to us here. And my sisters' herds are to the north, east and north east of here. Silverpelt, the other stallion you met, is Faith's leader. Remembering the stalions warning, Avalon swivled his harks and opened his nostriles. He smelled no danger, but he kept sharply alert, heading Silvepelt's warning about the Darks. He glanced at Cali, then began trotting toward the ocean. He craned his head around to look at his lovely fae. I was thinking of going for a swim, it has been a long day. Care to join me? He gave her a playful look, then broke into swift cantar. He plunged into liquid sapphire, water spraying everywhere. With a well aimed kick, he splashed the salty water all over the mare, soaking her. Avalon swam out a little deeper, chuckling at the suprised look on Cali's face.

Avalon sprayed the salt water all over the fae! She was soaked! Cali watched as the water droplets turned the sand a beige shade of gray. The salt water actually felt good on her shedding coat. Oh no you didn't! Cali giggled and lunged forward, plunging straight into the endless abyss of blue. She pricked her harks, picked her front hoof up, and slammed it down. The blue water splashed all over Avalon. Cali giggled. How do you like me now? Cali smirked at him. She made direct eye contact with big chocolate orbs. A playfull challenge danced across her eyes. The mare struck her hooves up to the sky, splashing Avalon again, and charged in the other direction. Water splashing everywhere. Catch me if you can! Cali screamed this flirtatiously behind her. Challenging the stag to pursue her. This land plus this stallion equalled pure bliss for this fae.

Avalon chuckled as he too was soaked by the fae's powerful splash. He pricked his harks toward the mare as she called out a playful challenge. Avalon whinnied in response and lunged out of the water after Cali. I will! The beach turned dark tan as he gollped after his mare. He faster than her but it took time to catch up to her, as she had gotten a good head start. When he did catch up to the fae, he cut her off in a playful manner, then shook his coat out, water dropplets flying everywhere. He nuzzled her, pretending to give up, then whirled, and pranced away. Avalon reared in pure joy. The eighteen hand stallion was quite a sight, with the sun shattering off his sorrel coat. Caught you. He said with a chuckle. Avalon dropped onto all fours, and shook his coat again, this time not aimed toward his fae. With a content sigh, he moved into the sun so that it could dry his coat.

Cali left her eyes connect to Avalon's. The fae saw his cover emotion was nervous, but his deeper emotion was sincere. she let her maw drop just a little bit. He was right, it was sudden, but why not share something like this right away? She didn't mind as long as the stage was sincere, which Avalon was. Cali drove back the Dark cloud to dig. She dug for her emotions. What was she feeling? She found something. It was admiration. That emotion pushes the cloud further away. She dug more. This time, lust. The clouds were torn in half. Again, she dug. She found the one that would save her for some time. She found love. She loved Avalon. That love, the Lightness of it, ripped the cloud up and shoved it right to the edge. It couldn't be pushed off, but she would be free for some time. The Dark would take time to recover and find it's way back to the front of her. She would push it back. A...Avalon. Oh Avalon... Cali sighed. It was hard for any horse to admit something like this. Yes. I will be your lead mare. I will stand by you in times of love and hate, victory and turmoil. I will fight by your side as I mother by your side. I accept all responsibilities. I will defend offenders while offending defenders. I will humor any wish of yours; conservative or rebellious, safe or suicidal. I love you. I will stand by you. Cali sighed again. She just spilled her heart out to a stag she had known for a short amount of life. Cali was becoming Lighter. The Dark was gone, for now, and she loved it! Prove your love to me. Follow me to the forest. I shall also prove my love for you... Cali trailed off, both love and lust on her mind and in her heart. Chocolate orbs met others as she turned around and sauntered to the trees.

Avalon watched as his beloved fae trotted into the forest. He was so relieved Cali had said yes. He had feared that she wouldn't have wanted the reaponsibility. Or him. Avalon trotted after Cali as she moved toward the forest. He was left in a stunned silence. He was still getting over his relief. With a sigh, he picked up his pace until he arrived by her side.

Some time later...
Avalon stood atop a low low rise where he could see over all his lands. He spotted a silvery boyce grazing below in the evening sun. Flicking his harks, Avalon checked for any thing out of place. Sensing none, he turned and trotted down into the field. He paused a took and drink from the stream before splashing quietly through it. He trotted up toward Cali and nuzzled her affectionately. When he finished, Avalon grabbed a mouthful of grass. Swallowing, he asked How has your day been? Avalon's eyes sparkled, remembering their afternoon swim. He lowered his muzzle to the soft grass, blowing it in all directions. With a sneeze he half reared, shaking his head. Glancing at Cali, he saw an amused look on here elegant face. He chuckled at him self. Lifting his head to the sky he said Perhaps we should find a place to get out of the rain. We may need it in the near future. Avalon looked up into the sky. He see and feel an ocean storm coming on. Dark gray clouds where lazily rolling in. Come, I think there is a bit of an overhang this way. He broke into a swift trot as it began to drizzle.

Lead the way, dear! Harks pinned as it started to sprinkle. Cali did not enjoy the feel of rain. It wasn't warm, nor cold. It was annoying. The fae did love watching it come down, though. She picked up a lengthy trot to follow behind Avalon to hide from the heaven's tears. They kept going, the cover was a good deal away. Cali looked up as she moved her boyce forward, to look at the falling sky. Water got in her ears. The fae snorted and shook her head viciously to get the moisture out. Wet ears was a huge pet peeve of hers. Avalon kept trotting, but got a tad slower. Cali could tell they were getting close. She hoped the covering would be warm and comfortable.

Avalon stopped beneath what could be considered a shallow cave. He turned to see an irrated look on the fae's face. He chuckled. Here, Cali! It is small, but it will keep us dry. And we still have plenty of space to move around. Avalon was quite thankful for this. He hated to be confined, and when their herd grew it would still comfortably hold several more equines. The rain quickly began into a downpour. Fortunately, his mare made it to his side before it truly began to rain.

Cali scurried under the lip of the cave before she got any wetter than she already was. Well at least we can stay dry...er As the water that had caught her on her way here settled onto her skin, Cali began to shiver in the cold dampness. The fae scampered over to Avalon's side and snuggled in. She just found out how mean spring could be. Heat radiated off of Avalon and kept her warm. She could stay like this for the rest of her life for all she cared. Cuddling up with her stallion felt so good. Well, it looks like we're going to be here for awhile. So, are there any loose mares out there yet? I'll help you find some! Cali smiled. They were going to be a big herd eventually. She could feel it. They could rule together.

Avalon chuckled at Cali's enthusiasm. He gently pressed his muzzle to her smooth neck. I haven't seen any yet, but when I do you'll be the first to know Avalon was pleased to see that the overhang kept them entirely dry. As he watched the rain come down, Avalon thought of just how wet his lands would be. Ew. He hoped his land wouldn't turn swampy. He hates that. Thankfully, the rain appeared to have let up a little, far sooner than he expected. Don't fret dear one, I believe it is letting up, though far sooner than I would have thought. Sticking his head out of the cave, he found that it was indeed letting up. He could see tha last few rays of the setting sun desperately peaking through the thick blanket of clouds. It appeared his fae didn't want to leave quite yet, so Avon stayed put, nuzzling her and doing his best to keep Cali warm.
