Cali nuzzled back as they kept warm and dry. Well, good. Rain is not usually my favorite thing. She looked out to the sky. Sun struggled to break the cloud's restriction, a lot like what she did everyday in her mind, just slightly streaking though. That little bit of sun was enough, though. The fae walked forward and looked higher in the sky.Oh Avalon, look! It's so beautiful. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple made a vibrant arc across the sky. Rainbows always seemed to make everything else on Earth seem brighter. Rainbows are so cheery.

A grin spread across Avalon's maw. Yes, it is indeed very beautiful. Much like you. The majestic rainbow seemed to blot out the clouds with it's brilliant colors. He stepped forward, so that he was half out of the cave and next to Cali. Rain was never my favorite weather either. It makes thinks much too soggy. He shook the remaining droplets from his long mane. Then took a careful sniff of the air. He neither smelt nor heard nothing. The area was oddly quiet. He stepped farther out, and continued to sniff about. Still nothing, yet Avalon could sense something. Something out of place. Swiveling his harks once again, he heard it. A soft, but menacing growl. Avalon moved between Cali and a very large mountain lion. Stay. Was all he said to his fae. A mountain lion should not be this far south, especially one so big. It had probably wandered here to try and escape rain. He thought. Anyhow, it did not belong here. Charging forward, Avalon attacked it, rearing high, and slamming his hooves down. He felt his feet connect with it's tawny hide. Avalon whirled and kicked, striking again and again. With a final screech, the animal took off, Avalon hot on it's heals until he reached the border of his land. He turned and headed back toward where he had left Cali. He had a few minor scratches on his legs, but nothing more.

Cali obeyed the brute as she stared wide-eyed at the confrontation going on. The fae watched as he chased the creature, both now out of sight. This is ridiculous. Why am ! not helping him?! Cali was pacing, back and forth, anxiously wishing for him to come back. She knew she couldn't help. Avlon had told her to stay, she had to obey. Cali kept scanning the land, looking for her stag. The mare spotted a bright sorrel blob. Avalon! Cali whinnied and sprinted to her love. Are you ok?! What happened?! Panick tainted Cali's voice. She was panicking. Nothing could happen to him; ever. The mare inspected Avalon, looking for anything that would suggest pain, and saw the scratches on his legs. Avalon, are you ok? Tell me the truth! Chocolate orbs filled with compassion searched his face for expression changes to hint her. Her eyes met his.

Avalon watched as Cali gave him a thorough inspection. I am fine, dear one. Nothing happened. Just a stray beast, but it is gone nothing to worry about. I am fine. He repeated, he tried to rid the anger the lion had brought on from his mind. How dare it come here, threatening the saftey of his Queen? That is the truth. I am perfectly alright. His eyes and voice where now filled with the love he felt for her. No need to fret, I am here now. He said softly, as he nuzzled her.

Chocolate orbs melted, all traces of worry replaced with love as Cali nuzzled back. This constant love had helped subside the Dark. She was winning her battle steadily. Cali looked around. Everything was wet and sloopy. Great, just great. Cali just loved mud. Yeah, right. Her tail swished as the first fly of the year tryed to settle on her back; another loveof hers for the warmer months. She watched as a bunny and her babies scurried to their home, getting out of the conditions. Babies, they're just so cute! Cali smiled.

Avalon watched along with Cali as the rabbits scuttled down into the earth. Unfortinatly, the ground was now rather soggy, thanks to the downpour. As mud sloshes up over Avalons legs, he grimaces slightly. The dirt and such did not entirely help the cuts, no matter how small. He kept this well hidden, and was nearly positive Cali didn't notice. The mare didn't miss much, but he didnt want her to worry over a scratch that stung a bit. With a shake of his head, he said Yes, little ones are very cute. A smile of his own spread across his maw. Thoughts ran through his head of a little foal, soon to come. He glanced at Cali. She appeared much calmer, thankfully. Avalon felt awful for having scared her like he had. With a sigh, he began to search for some grass that wasn't completely soaked. What he did find, however, was far better. High in a tree where some small apples. Not often did he see apples this far south. Rearing back and affecting his neck, Avalon was just able to reach one of the largest there. Pulling it down, he offered it to Cali. He was confident it would be sweet, giving it's bright color.

Cali giggled as the stag pulled the apple down for her. The fae graciously accepted it. Cali ate it up in a matter of seconds. She looked up at the tree. There was another nice looking one. The sweet fruit laughed in her face, she being unable to reach it. Cali reared up and tried to snatch it. When her first attempt failed, the fae sprung up into the sky and, this time, managed to snatch it. Cali offered it up to her stag.

Avalon took the apple thankfully from Cali. After he had crunched through it, he led her up hill where it was dry, and lay beneath a tree. He felt the fae settled next to him, and he moved closer, hoping to keep her warm. It was a cool night for spring, bubat least it wasn't excrutiateinly hot. He nickered a good night to Cali, whose head lay on his shoulder. Putting his own head down, Avalon fell asleep next to his mare who was already dozing off.

Cali settled in as she, very quickly, fell into darkness. Run. Run. Run. Faster, run faster! The Dark brute chuckled as he loped along behind Cali. She was sprinting her heart out, but he was a horse of a different breed; Thoroughbred maybe. He kept right along behind her as she sprinted so hard her legs were on fire and her heart felt like bursting. She tried to turn around, but of course, he was faster. The stag herded her back in the direction he wanted. Where are we going?! Cali screamed back to the brute. Her legs were slowing, mind churning nauseatingly, heart on the verge of bursting; both from the excusiating physical pain and the longing pain of losing Avalon. It had happened again. The Dark won, they had come. This time was different though, she didn't escape, she couldn't. Home. the Dark chuckled as he kept loping along. She could see the border of the Dark land; his was probably right there. He kept herding her towards the lands. Cali's eyes bulged. She had made the connection. The fae stopped in her tracks, upsetting the brute. This was her land, her original land. This is where her herd died. They died from darks. Cali, wide-eyed, scanned the area. There! There she saw it. An area of te land was still red. After three and a half years, it was still tainted with the blood of her friends and family. She turned her head. Avalon! She galloped to him, not realizing the Dark and his mares were standing near. The Dark brute chuckled. Well look at that, Light love. We're going to have to break that apart, now won't we girls? The stallion turned to his three mares, all agreeing. Fast as lightning, heart-sickening as thunder, they lunged at Avalon with open mouths filled with sharp teeth. AVALON! GET THE FRICK AWAY FROM HIM! She was in complete and utter denial. The lead fae looked up with a bloddy maw and smirked at Cali. Cali woke with a start. Never had the cloud become so strong, so quickly before. The fae stood up and looked behind her to Avalon. Her mind lightened. Just the sight of him, the love, sent the cloud far away. She would be fine for awhile. Cali walked around, grazing, then got an idea. She lifted her head, and scanned the area, wide nostrils trying to pick up any foreign smells. It seemed clear, so she picked up a trot and headed out of the lands in search of straggle mares for their herd.

Avalon awoke with a start. He lifted his head only to realize he was there alone. Cali was gone. Avalon was on his feet in an instant, harks swiveling, nostrils wide, searching for any sign of danger. Putting his nose to the ground, he found only the fae's sent, none other. He sighed in relief, then set out in her direction. He whinnied, hoping he would get a response telling him that Cali was alright. A mare on here own could certainly get into trouble...He shook all bad thoughts Fro his head, and torture faster. Cali? He called, probably went looking for mares. He thought

Harks swiveled back. She had head something. Cali widened her nostrils. She could smell Avalon! Avalon? I'm here! Cali turned around and walked towards him. He must've woken when she left. I went hunting for you...unsuccessfully. She looked around. They were no longer around a beach. Cali and Avalon were in a dark, dense forest. The atmosphere seemed...different. They attacked. Cali could feel it. Come dear We see you Come here To see what we do
Babe here we are You're almost home You're not very far As I speak you your poem
Forget him Darks do it better You like it dim It won't get wetter

Thayer looked up. His call was in progress. The midnight stag sung back. The song, so beautiful, called his herd. They would help. He thrusted his front daggers to the sky and screamed. This was it, make it or break it, he would choose. Thayer landed, and lunged forward. He would be there in no time. There was no where for them to go. The rest of the Lights were to fall away to come to their aid, it would be over and he would be gone by the time they got there. Thayer got to the couple and reared his head. Well, well. Look who we have here. It's lovely to finally see you Cali. We've been waiting. Thayer grinned wildly. The ancient instinct was settling in, deeply engraved into the bottom of his brain, no Dark could ever be rid of it. The original Light and Dark rivalry. The Dark stag and the Light mare. No horse could be rid of the spell. The brute's words were too strong. The Darks would forever be looking, the Lights would forever be alert. No matter the outcome of this mare, it would never go away.

Avalon felt the change as well. Something...off. That was when he heard it, Cali's sweet voice overlapped by a deeper, more menacing one. As he turned his head, Avalon spotted a Dark brute. His head snapped around looking for any other. Avalon could smell three other mares, all Dark. He pinned his harks. Leave us be Dark. I do not wish to fight you. Avalon kept close to Cali, fortunately she was still a good distnce away. He stared at the stallion coming out of the shadows. Now getting a better look. A thoroughbred, jet black. Avalon still didn't relax. This breed wasn't usually a strong fighter, but he was not onne to underestimate. Despite being a warmblood, Avalon had this Dark brute beat in both height and muscle. He glared at the awful stallion. It appeared Cali and him new one another. Could this have been the herd, that had traumatized his mare time and time again. it would not happen again. Avalon remained calm and non threateneing, not wanting to provoke him, and pu Cali in danger. He wouls wait it out.

Chocolate orbs met black ones. Cali could see Thayer disappear behind the almighty Dark. His name had disappeared through the years, but his presence was still very much there. He looked back at Cali. Se saw the pure hatred. Cali broke eye contact and looked back at Avalon.

Come one Come all We'll get it done I'm gonna have a ball
Barin, where art thou? We shall team We won't even bow This is our dream
Thayer stared at Avalon through another presence. He was here. Thayer only had a portion of control. Do not fret, brute. You shall have help, as will I. Thayer inched closer, mouth salivating, ready for the sweetness of prey blood. He just wanted revenge. Together, they were a death team. Bloodlust and lust for revenge meant doom for all who got in the way. Thayer waited for Barin.

Aparrently, this stallion wanted a fight, and badly. He had called for help already. Well, he would have help as well. Avalon would wait for Silverpelt's help. Avalon was sure the stallion would help him. Avalon let out a sigh. Very well. Since you are so eager to fight, it is a fight you will get. He turned to Cali. You will go straight back to our lands and stay. I will return either way, but how the fight plays out will determine whether you stay or..go. He said this far to quietly for the other stag to hear, it was meant fo Cali's harks alone. He continued at the same volume. Do not, I repeat, do not allow him to haze you or whatever he calls it, if I am to lose. Do not fret, nothing will happen. I will come for one way or another, we shall not be seperated. Stay strong, know I will always return. He looked back at he stag. When everything is ready, we shall fight. Until then. He gave a stiff nod, and moved Cali toward his land and nuzzled her lovingly. Go home, I will not be long once it begins. And do not go off on any searches. If you wish to leave the land, go straight to Silverpelt's herd. It's cooler there, but you will have company and protection. Faith will be there, you two would get along fine. Silverpelt may leave them in Jasper's company, they are just south of Silverpelt's land. And whatever you do, don't go near Dark lands. He nuzzled her again, and sent her on her way. A small smile spread a cross his maw as he watched his departing fae. So beautiful. Avalon turned back to the Dark lands to wait for Silverpelt.
OOC: Wow, that was pretty long. xD

Cali satred at him vacantly as she nodded silently. Ok, whatever you say, I will obey. I love you Avalon. Be careful... She trailed off as she started to choke up. The fae nuzzled him and started towards White Sands. Cali would wait there for her love to return. She didn't know how ling it would take, but she would wait. When Cali got back home, she walked straight to the cave and slowly dropped her boyce to the ground. She sighed as she looked around at the cave's walls. She would come here from now on whenever she needed to. The fae started to enjoy that little cave. Cali looked out at the still gloomy sky. The clouds were a bland gray, causing everything to have a grayish tint. Joyous. The mare laid there, staring vacantly at random objects, waiting for her stallion to come home. ooc: ok one colt on february 18

Avalon stood and watched his beloved fae as she trotted home. Without him. He sighed, angry and sad that they had to be seperated, especially this way. Thoughts ran through his mind, he could go home now, and be with his love and ignore the Dark brute. Avalon shook his head. He couldn't do that, the dark would come back and Cali would be in more danger than before. He looked of into the distance watching his mare until she vanished into the horizon. He new he could trust her to keep herself safe. She could seek company with Faith and Aleta if she wished. Another wave of anger and sadness cascaded over him. Fortunately, this only fueled him to want to fight harder in the upcoming dispute. With his eyes full of passion, Avalon turned and strode away to wait for his ally he knew would come to his aid.

Avalon looked to the brute standing a few yards away. Go home Thayer. I will be at the fight. Our allies will come, it is just a matter of time. Leave me be till then, I will leave you alone as well. He threw a nod at the other stallion, then took off toward his land, hooves pounding rythmicly on the ground.
Avalon shot into his lands, quicker than ever. He picked up Cali's sent and followed it easily to their little cave. She lay on the ground eyes closed, it appeared she was asleep, but Avalon knew better. She took no notice of his approach, until he walked up and nuzzled her lovingly. I am home Cali. And I will be here until the fight begins, and then I will return. Avalon waited for her to respond, and continued grooming her. They had been separated almost full day. It was now very early morning, to early for the sun though it would rise shortly. He sighed, as Cali's sweet sent filled his nostrils.

Cali lifted her head to find Avalon. Avalon! Your here! Cali sighed with instant happiness. She studied the way the rising sun gave him a pinkish tint as she groomed and nuzzled him back. Mysterious how the sun controlled so many things, essential and not essential, to life. How much do i love you? I'll tell you no lie. How deep is the ocean? How high is the sky? Cali smiled at her joy. She couldn't stand to be away from him for long. Their connection was too strong. Chocolate orbs met and loved flowed, connecting them.

Avalon settled down next to his fae. He smiled at the now joyful look in the mare's eyes. Love filled him and he sighed, content to be back home for now. He looked at the sun, lazily easing it's way into the sky. He loved how it brightened everything around him. Yes, I am here. He said softly to Cali. He closed his eyes dozed on and off for a time. After a while, when he was sure Cali was asleep, he too closed his eyes for the night. He took a last look at her, sure she wasn't going off to search for mares in the morning. He put his head down, and fell into a light sleep.

Cali's eyes fluttered, she ground her teeth. Sleep was not an easy thing for her these days.
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. A bright rainbow arced across the sky. The sky shone a bright blue, the sun, a blinding white. Cali delicately grazed, feeling lighter. A colt rammed into her, an accident from romping around. Cali giggled and groomed her colt. The fae smelled something foreign, wait not foreign, she knew it. It was Thayer. Cali wasn't quick enough, He grabbed her and kept her away from her colt. His lmares came sauntering in from the shadows, wicked grins on their maws. Cali had to watch in utter horror as they crept closer to her foal. Don' you DARE touch him! The mares stopped and laughed. Seconds ticked by as Cali tried to guess what they would do. The mares leaped forward, sinking teeth into foal flesh. A squeal escaped from his little maw, chocolate orbs met Cali's as the little light left his eyes. NO! YOU FRICKING BITCHES! Cali thrashed around, biting kicking, but she was no match for the Dark stallion. The faes left the lifeless colt on the ground, walking toward their stag. Good job ladies, let's get Cali's sorry ass back home. Thayer laughed, leading her to his land.
Cali swiftly awoke, drenched in sweat. What a nightmare! She looked over at Avalon, calming down. The fae looked up and saw a spider weaving a web. She wasn't going to go back to sleep, so she watched as the mystical creature defied gravity and drew her home.
