~'*DESCRIPTION*'~
Silverpelt's lands are in the Arrowheads. Tall sloping mountains, wide green fields, with many tall evergreens dotting the hillside all over.
(UPDATE 10/7/10) When following the main stream, one comes upon a field tall and thick with grass and the opening of a gigantic cave, wherein Silverpelt's herd live when it gets chilly. The larks and tamaracks have turned gold, the deciduous trees lose their leaves, the cold winter winds begin their icy reign, and the Arrowhead herd enter the cave, after staying away so as to not deplete the grazing surrounding it. When the snow melts and soft winds of spring come and restore life, then the herd travels towards green meadows, farther down the mountains, to fatten up for foaling and mating season, which is when they go back up the mountains, and summer closer to the cave. Which is often used to cool down in the summer heat, or dry off from the rain, though grazing is not done close to it in preparation for winter's return.
Silverpelt gazed about the mountains surrounding his home. He walked by a stream, munching on a juicy apple from a nearby tree. After swallowing, he sniffed all about, smelling for anything dangerous or interesting, like other horses. Silverpelt neighed excitedly, hoping he would be in luck today. There were all sorts of pretty things, and strange, interesting ones too. Birds sang in the wild apple tree, rabbits fluffed their ears about, and fish flashed their scales as they swam in the stream. He was mighty interested in all of these as he traipsed about, but they were not what he wanted to find, or not find. Silverpelt had not seen wolves, coyotes, cougars, or bears anywhere, and he was very thankful for that! It seemed to him a fine place to live, though he was lonely for other horseflesh. Birds and rabbits, he thought, were not enough for a stallion in his prime.

Silverpelt happily but tiredly walked into his home, sniffing all of his favorite remembered smells. He splashed into the creek, to cross it, and greatly enjoyed the swim. It was wonderfully cooling, washing off his sweat. Fish scattered everywhere, trying to avoid the big stallion. The deciduous trees were beginning to turn color, all in beautiful reds and yellows and greens and browns. Larches and tamaracks were already slightly turning brown. The view was incredible! After climbing out of the screen, Silverpelt welcomed the warm sunlight of the afternoon, happy to be dried off quickly. He turned to Aleta and nickered, Welcome to my home! I hope you like it here! Then he lay down and rolled on the sweet grass, rose, and began grazing. They had traveled for a long time, and Silverpelt was hungry. Bellies must be filled, then he would show her around before they bedded down.
(note: when i wrote this, the season Autumn was beginning)

Aleta drank from the cold refreshing stream. They had traveled quite far and her muscles ached. She snorted and jumped across the small, fast flowing stream. She yawned and laid down on the lush grass. Her muzzle rested on the cool ground for a few minutes before she took a few bites of the grass. She laid her head back and soon fell asleep. She drempt of her foal hood. She was running around the meadow her fathers herd stayed in during the summer. It was large and full of wild flowers. The summer had just started so all the beautiful flowers were still alive. She smiled as she watched a bumble bee flew from flower to flower. Then her dream fast forwarded to the terrible day of her 2nd birth day. The day the lightning strike killed her entire herd. She awoke with a start, and breathing heavily. Her eyes big, she no longer felt like sleeping, for fear of the dream she had almost encountered. She looked around for Silverpelt but did not find him. She let out a scared whinny, afraid to be alone.

After finding a large nearby cave, Silverpelt entered carefully. It had a wide entrance, and a huge main room, as far as he could tell. Silverpelt was muchly pleased, and continued exploring. He noted several chambers that a horse could enter, wide rooms deep in the mountainside. At the end of the first chamber, he piqued his ears and sniffed. Surely, he smelt water! What luck! An underground stream with a shallow pool! A great blessing, Silverpelt thought. He turned after getting a small drink and finding the water was clear and cool. Trotting to the entrance, he looked back, then cantered to where he thought Aleta was sleeping. Shocked when he heard Aleta's frightened whinny, Silverpelt galloped towards her, slowed, looked about for danger, and nickered gently, rubbing gently against her.
Aleta, it's ok. I am right here, dear one. I was just looking in a large cave i have found. What happened, if i may ask it of you? he asked gently to the distraught mare.

Aleta's breathing slowed to it's normal rhythm. Nothing, it was just a nightmare about my old herd. She explained to him. She snorted and her boyce relaxed My dream started out nice but then ended up at the day my herd died. She whispered her eyes fighting back the tears that the memories brought with them. She took a deep breath to steady her self and felt the onslaught of emotions subside. She smiled and nuzzled Silverpelt, she felt better with him around. And so what is this about a cave? she asked him when she was sure her voice was not going to crack. Is it the cave we will be staying in?

Silverpelt listened closely to Aleta's retelling of her dream, worried and nervous for the exquisite mare he liked so much. He nuzzled her gently, breathing her sweet scent. Standing with her, til she calmed, Silverpelt heard her question and nickered happily. He walked quietly to the field in front of the cave, which was covered with long thick grass. This grass, Aleta, will come in handy for winter! He spoke softly, swishing his thick tail. Silverpelt then stepped through the cave entrance. Here we are, this is the cave i spoke of. It is very roomy, and there is a spring of pure water at the back of this main room. There are several passages and side rooms, most of them being big enough for one of us to enter. I did find scat and bones, but they were very old with no scent, so i doubt anyone has used it recently. I plan to remove what i can, though it might be a challenge. Silverpelt nickered. I was thinking, would this not work well for a winter home? We would be protected by the weather most of the time, except for doing business and eating. He trotted through several cozy rooms, showing Aleta around the various tunnels. Once they had returned to the outer room, he nibbled her mane and groomed her thickening coat, hoping to relax her.

Wow, it's so big! I can't believe you found this! The rooms are so cool! I have never seen a cave with so many different corridors! Aleta looked all around her as Silverpelt gave her the grand tour. A smile was on her muzzle the entire time. When he told her of the remains and the animal poop she was not worried. She could deal with bears, mountain lions, and other animals, it was just mother nature she was afraid of. She looked around the cave and to her pleasure there was nothing that would burn. It can also protect us from fires too. If a fire ever started while we were asleep, we would be safe. She saw a little opening that they had not explored yet. She went to explore it, she had to duck her head, but her body made it through the gap just fine. When she was through the little hall way she emerged in a little area. She looked up and saw trees, light shine between them. The roof of the cave here had eroded away and grass grew in this once dark room. The way the trees had grown would protect this little grass room from the snow in the winter if any were to fall. Silverpelt come look at this! It's beautiful!

Silverpelt smiled gleefully, prancing about at Aleta's happiness. He perked his ears when she mentioned safety from fires. Ahh! Of course, the cave will provide safety from horrible fires! Brilliant thought, dear one. He noticed her inspecting a corridor he had not yet gone down. After hearing her whinny, Silverpelt carefully stepped through the end if the short tunnel, and gasped when he emerged. Incredible! This is splendid! And beautiful, too. Ohh, and look! He trotted to the end of the small room, where enother entrance lay. This knowledge filled him with joy as he stepped into the bright sunshine. Oh, how splendid indeed! Another entrance! We will never be caught inside the caverns! And this will supplement winter feeding, i'm sure! Silverpelt swiftly spinned to face the pretty mare, smiling happily to her, then spun again and galloped into the field, stretching his muscles and swishing his fine tail, rearing and bucking with joy, happy, wild, free, and so glad he was not alone.

Aleta smiled and bolted after him. She bucked out at him while giggling and raced ahead of him. She looked back and stuck her tung out at him, challenging him. She galloped faster and faster, the sweet air rushing in and out of her large lungs. She did a sliding stop and froze. He nostrils flared and she snorted. Her harks swiveled and her huge eyes looked all about her. She slowly backed toward Silverpelt all the while looking around. When she got to him she whispered. Do you smell that?! not waiting for his answer she franticly whispered again. Humans! I can smell their fire and hear them talking! She walked slowly into the trees not listening to his answer. She crept to the tree line and saw them. Five large men sat around a campfire. Their horses where tied to a tree not far away. Aleta quietly backed until she could no longer see them, then walked back to the clearing. What do we do!?

Silverpelt galloped playfully with Aleta, and he was surprizen when she quickly stopped. He gazed about quickly, then looked toward her. As soon as she spoke, he pirouetted to face the firection she already was, and raised his fine head to the sky, sniffing and smelling. Humans, are you sure? Aleta, wait, dear one, for me! Silverpelt inspected the camp, thankful they were downwind. He studied the low fire, over which the Twolegs were heating something disgusting. He examined how the horses were tied up, looking over them carefully and realizing they were mares. Even more carefully, he studied those stinky, filthy humans, and the loud bangers they had, things to be feared. He quietly turned to Aleta and whispered: Shh, pass back through the caves a bit. Don't let them catch you. Then Silverpelt walked further towards the camp, started to canter, and when he revealed himself, reared savagely and screamed. Such a sound only a fully wild stallion in his prime could make! The Twolegs leapt up as Silverpelt jumpt at them, rearing and bucking with gusto. The mares all whinnied and tried to break free, affected by the fierceness if the magnificent stallion, when they had been so long since being around one. Silverpelt got his back feet on the behind of a twoleg, then reared, attacking another. Others grabbed their loud bangers and tried to shoot the stallion down, though they (luckily for Silverpelt!) failed doing so. Two of the Twolegs grabbed at their mounts, swiftly untying them, but the mares raced off, all freaking out. All the twolegs raced away from the rampaging stallion, chasing their mares, On a side note, Silverpelt was dissapointed at that, as he had hoped to keep the mares. The fire had died down, thankfully, and Silverpelt trotted towards the new cave mouth, nickering to Aleta that all was safe.

Aleta's eyes were huge and shocked as Silverpelt raced into the camp. She did as he said to and silently raced toward the cave. She had just cleared the mouth of the cave when she herd the bangs. Several sounded from the camp and she whinnied in alarm. She spun around and whinnied again. Silverpelt! She was breathing hard when she saw the five mares the humans had, running away, the humans after them. She smiled joyfully as she spotted Silverpelt galloping toward her. She trotted up to meet him. She nuzzled him and looked him over to make sure he had not been hurt.Your not hurt are you? She asked just to make sure. You are INSANE!! They could have killed you! She said while nuzzling him again.

Silverpelt ran swiftly to return to Aleta, and comforted her. I am fine, i did not get hurt. Insane? Silverpelt tossed his head, sending his mane flowing down his neck. Dear One, i am certainly not insane. Yes, they could, but they were like snakes in a succulent patch of grass, and had to be removed. Or would you fancy being captured and enslaved to twolegs like those poor mares? Don't worry, dear one, i am quite fine. Shall we go back to the other side of the cave? I think i will swim a little. Silverpelt nickered and pranced about, as he reassured Aleta.

Aleta thought back to when she was a young foal. Her big brother had been captured by the humans. She had been two when she went to help him escape. But when she got there he did not want to leave. She never knew why he wanted to stay, but from that day forward she always thought he was insane. She fallowed Silverpelt and dove into the water. She relaxed and let her self float, trying to forget that day. Aleta moved to shallower water and stood up. She aimed and using her front right hoof, splashed Silverpelt. Laughing she climbed out of the water and laid down. The warm sun started to dry her coat, and she yawned. There was a rustle in the bushes behind her and she jumped up. A little mama bunny with five babies hopped out of the bushes and right past Aleta. She sighed and put her head down God, I'm so jumpy today. She laid back down but could not drift asleep so she just watched Silverpelt.

Silverpelt leapt into the water, cooling himself. He swam about, stirring the fish, and they all swam quickly from the gigantic disturbance. (gigantic from the tiny fishes' point of view!) He splashed his way towards Aleta, but grinned and began to swim away when he saw Aleta aiming her leg. Too late! Water splashed all over behind his face, and utterly soaked his long mane. Silverpelt attempted to spin around, so he could splash back, but he saw Aleta had already gotten out. He swam to the shallows, and leaped onto the grass, then shook himself, scattering droplets all over, then began grazing.

Aleta laughed as some of the droplets landed on her. She noticed a weird kind of grass by the trees. She got up and went to investigate. She sniffed the leaves and smiled, she remembered this plant. She turned and called to Silverpelt Come look Silverpelt! I found wild carrots! and with that she dipped her head down and pulled on of the delicious treats up. She dropped the carrots greenery and just ate the carrot its self. It was large and yummy. She pulled up a few more but soon stopped. She didn't want to get sick from eating too many goodies. Thirsty from eating so many carrots, she walked over to the lake and drank. The cool, refreshing water slid down her throat and quenched her thirst. She laid back down and her eyes fallowed Silverpelt.

Silverpelt raised his fine head when Aleta rose, and watched her inspect the plants. At her call, the handsome stallion walked towards her, and sniffed at the things she had pulled out. Really? That's wonderful! How splendid. Silverpelt nibbled one, savoring the juicy crunch of the wild carrot, how exquisite the taste! When he finished, he raised his head high, looking about, then his eyes followed Aleta as she went to drink. Hmm, i think i will have a drink too. He walked slowly towards the stream, and dipped his muzzle in, sucking the cool, refreshing water. Ahh, that tastes wonderful. He nickered to Aleta, then turned to graze again, walking along the streambank as he cropped the grasses.

Aleta watched as a fawn, led my it's mother, came and drank from the stream. A weird feeling came over her. She could only think of one word that fit, maternal. Her instincts flared and she knew that next breeding season she would get try for what she wanted, a foal. To bad it's not breeding season now she thought dryly and she began to munch on the grasses around her. She started thinking of names for colt's and filly's. She wondered what it would look like, how tall would it be? What color would it be? would it have socks? A blaze? A star? she was lost in thought over a foal she had not even conceived yet.

Cold rain soaked Silverpelt's fur, and awakened him. He snorted, shook his body, and looked about. Dark clouds were gathering, and the temperature was cooling quickly. Brrrrr! Silverpelt snorted. Cmon! Let's head for the cave! He whinnied to Aleta as he turned towards where the cave was, though he could not see it in the bitterly cold mists. Stick close to me, so we don't lose each other! He began pounding his hooves through the rain soaked fields, winding his way through the trees. Ahead loomed the massive cave, and Silverpelt was glad to see it's looming stone entrance. He galloped up, and slowed to a trot as he walked in, thankful all over again for the protection from the elements it gave. He sidled up to Aleta, shivered, and spoke softly to her: If we keep next to each other, we should get warmer faster. As he gazed outside, he noted the rain replaced with the first snow of the season, softly falling quietly, with thick snowflakes.
(foal idea great! We should start planning it, between, gender, name, coat color, traits, details like socks or stripes, and who uses it, me or you. Also, how do we determine twins? gonna have to come up with a way to have the chance for twins perhaps both parents guess a number, and Hidden choose a number (from 1 to 30, perhaps) and if it is within 3-5 on either side (like Hidden choose 19 so 14-25 of within 5 will get twins but i think 2-3 would be better to make them more rare,so 16-22 or 17-21 if 19 was the number. I will write up a list of possibilities for foal patterns (between Silverpelt and Aleta) soon)

Aleta ran with Silverpelt to the cave. When she was safely under she sighed. She was soaked from the rain and was starting to get cold. She looked out at the first snow. Snow was beautiful but so cold. She may have her winter coat but when she was wet it did nothing against the elements. A soft powdering of the fluffy white snow started to cover the ground. She started to shiver and huddled next to Silverpelt. She laid down on the soft moss of the cave and tried to drift asleep. She failed as another shiver took her boyce. She looked around the cave wondering if she could ever go to sleep. She made a mental note not to go for a swim or out in the rain when it was this cold outside. Her head finally rested on the ground as she fell into a dream less slumber.
(OOC:LOL you can prob think of more than I can but I will make a list as well. If its not twins then u can have the first and I get the second.)

In midmorning, Silverpelt awoke. He walked quietly towards the entrance. The sky was free of clouds, and the sun shone down on the melting snow. He trotted out, running amidst the clear spots and the drifts. Pulling to a stop by the stream, he drank quickly, teeth bitterly cold from the chillingly cool water splashing swiftly by. Silverpelt cantered down the mountainside til he found a patch of succulent grass and started grazing after a good look and sniff about. Snip snip, he devoured the good grass as his rumbling belly filled slowly, then he set out for more. How delicious! He was ravenous, it seemed. Eventually, he finished and cantered about, spinning and leaping about, jumping over fallen trees, rearing and bucking for the joy of being alive and full of wild energy. The majestic stallion slowed, walking, with the same happiness he had when pulling off antics, but cool and calm. He aproached Aleta, and nuzzled her, inviting her to stand with him, and groomed her. Gently he nibbled her mane, snortly softly and breathing deeply, gladly, his heart overfull with happiness.
