Jasper trotted into his lands, the layer of snow ever so slowly starting to thin. The golden stallion could sense Mystique not far behind him. He slowly sank down to his knees and proceeded to roll in his favorite spot. The sound of the snow crunching under his weight stopped soon, as his body heat melted it away. Getting up, Jasper walked over to the new mare "Welcome to Gold Fields!"

Mystique whinnied happily, excited to have a place to call home. "It's beautiful"! was all she could say. She could see the mountains in the distance, and was pleased to find that it was cool here, similar to the peaks north of here. Sunlight sparkled off her white coat as she gazed about, tossinng her mane joyously.

A few days later...
Jasper stood grazing atop his favorite hill. A black banner stretched out behind him and waved in the gentle breeze. Even in spring, Gold Hills still held onto the cool air. His dark orbs spotted a white boyce and the gold brutes head rose. Picking up a trot, Jasper went and greeted his newest herd member. "Good evening Mystique, how was you day today?"
OOC: If you want, they can breed this spring and we can decide who gets the foal, but its up to you.

Lifting up her sleek head, Mystique nickered a freeting to her leader. I had a lovely day, Jasper. And yours? Her harks twisted around, listening to the sounds of the wind blowing through the tall grass. A content sigh escaped her maw.
OOC: Sure sounds good! But I have no idea how the foal thing works.

"My day was good thank you" Jasper smiled, the ground under his daggers was soft and covered in a thick layer of new grass. He bent down and grabbed a mouthful of the delicious stuff and ate it. After finishing his quick bite to eat, he gave Mystique a smile "I'll be in the trees if you need me."
OOC: Don't worry, it's easy! You can have the foal this spring, and we can just say they 'went into the forest for privacy' Muse: Bleh

Mystique watched him go, then grabbed another mouthful of the sweet grass. A few moments after he vanished into the forest, she trotted closer to the trees, as it would be easier to hear his call if he needed anything. Then, she dropped to the ground and rolled in the new spring grass, the sun sparkling off her white boyce.

Jasper entered the calm forest, it was serene and peaceful here. He bent his head down to nibble one the small patches of grass, his eyes covered by thick black forelock.
OOC: lol you going to put her in the forest or is she to shy?

Mystique quickly finnished her mouthful of grass, then walked into the dark greens of the forest. She stopped beside Jasper, both their coats dulled by the lack of light.

A little while later...
Jasper was scratching on a large tree, bits of winter fur coming off. You could start to see his summer coat, it was slightly darker and richer. After finishing his scratching, he walked over to the small pond and drank.

Mystique, realising this was a smart idea, also rubbed herself against the rough bark of a tree, but more carefully. Chunks of hair fell from her boyce. Her summer coat shone through, silvery and soft. She shook her head in distaste. Great now she looked patchy. With a sigh, she dropped to the ground and rolled, cleaning off more hair, untill she was satisfied she wasnt quite so patchy any more. Tucking her legs beneath her, she stood up carefully. Her boyce was now heavy with the foal she would have in just a few days.

A few days later...
Mystique stood up, taking a deep breath as she did. She looked down at the little foal that now lay at her feet. An adaorable buckskin filly. Quickly, she began to lick her new daughter clean. Within a few minutes her foal was on its feet. Mystique chuckled as her filly tried over and over to walk without falling. I will call you Naia. She told the foal, who was not at all listening. Finally Naia made it up and staggered after her mother. Mytique, while keeping her eye on Naia, whinnied to Jasper.
Naia gazed around her home and then up at her mother standing nearby. She bounced around on her long slender legs wondering, eager to explore the few feet she dared stray from her mother's side. She could smell another horse, and pricked her ears in curiousity.

Jasper was grazing when he herd Mystique's call. Trotting over to her, he spotted a small buckskin filly at her side. The stallion stopped a few feet away, as to not scare the filly.

Mystique looked up at her leader, a wide grin on her maw. Isn't she adorable? Mystique turned toward her filly and nudged her forward slightly, so Jasper could get a better look at his daughter. Mystique's eyes sparkled. She looks a good deal like you. Mystique couldn't stop smiling, she was truly thrilled with the tiny filly.
Naia looked up curiously at the big stallion as her mother nudged her forward. She took a quick look back at her mother standing off to the side a bit. Seeing a reassuring look, Naia walked up to the stallion, stopping a short distance away. She streched her tiny face up toward the equine, sniffing. His coat matched her own.

The golden stallion smiled and blew a playful puff of air, ruffling the filly's forelock. "She is beautiful, what did you name her?" looking back down at the cute foal, he saw that she did indeed share his coat, but had her mothers expression.

Mystique smiled. Thank you. I call her Naia. Mystique nuzzled her filly, her golden coat shone in the afternoon sun, shattering the light every which way. Mystique chuckled as her daughter stared at Jasper. She flicked her harks and flared her nostrils, thinking she heard something in the brush. Must be my immagination. She thought, and ignored it.
Naia blinked at jerked her head back sharply as her sire blew her forelock inti her eyes. Hey! She squealed. Chocolate orbs wide, Naia snorted, barely moving the stallion's thick mane. She shook her head and darted around, skidding to a stop and falling on her rump before some brush. Leaping to her feet, she darted over to her mother's side, taking in all unfamiliar smells and sounds.

Harks flattened in a saddened way, Artemisia trotted to where she thought she would find Mystique. Chocolate orbs surveyed the land and spotted the white spot. The fae trotted swiftly over to her. Eyes connected, sharing the serious energy. Mystique, as you may know, Jasper has been missing for about a week. I have decided that, as lead mare, I would go look for him. Head down, nose extended, Artemisia sighed sadly. She would need to find the stag. Please take care, It would be sickening as lead mare to have anything happen to the rest of the herd. I bid you farewell. The mare turned and started on her disheartening journey.

Mystique only nodded. She hadn't seen Jasper in ages. She thought about accopnaying Artemisisa, but Mystique and her filly would only slow them down. She could fare well on her own. She watched the lead mare go, heading south at the moment. Mystique gazed at the setting sun, turning red over the horizon. She nosed Naia over toward their usual sleeping spot. As she settled down, Mystique stared after Artemisisa, now just a speck in the distance, her twins bouncing along at her side. She sighed and settled in more next Naia who was ready dozing off.
