Aspen's rythmic cantar had her soaring along the land at the base of a mountain range. Her odd colored coat gleamed in the mid-summer sun as she skidded to a stop beside a massive tree. She snuffled around in the grass for a moment before settling down to graze. The mare's harks flipped back and forth as she took in the sights and sounds of this new place. Aspen had traveled a good long ways from her former home and was hoping too find some company sometime in the near future. The fae lifted her head, sharp eyes taking in all movements around her. Satisfied, she went back to grazing, still wishing someone would come by. It had been far too long since she had shared another equines presence. The early evening sun beat down on her brindle coat, turning it a deeper blue. Aspen shook her head, a small sigh escaping her maw. She couldn't even catch a scent of another horse, no one was around. Still a bit tired from her day of travel, the mare kept in the shade provided by the oak she stood below. Aspen's immatientce grew increasingly worse as she waited. Surely someone would come by eventually.

Silverpelt was traveling, when suddenly he caught a scent of a mare. Halting, he sniffed around, scenting for more tan the mare he had smelled. Ascertaining there was just one, he approached her. And basically gaped at her. Wow, what a gorgeous mare! He approached her, speaking. Hello, are you of the Light?

Aspen's elegant head snapped up at an alarming speed. Her tensed, poised and ready to make a break for it if necessary. SHe was sure she was faster than the stag standing nearby. Harks pricked toward him, Aspen spoke. "Yes, I am Light. I would assume that you are as well?" The fae relaxed her boyce slightly, more comfortable at a distance at least for the moment.

His legs carried him lazily across his lands, protecting his family from any threat that posed itself. He had worked too darn hard to get them back and he wasn't about to lose them again without putting up one heck of a fight. His harks flicked away pesky flies, as did his luscious tail. Nostrils flared, the stag noticed something peculiar; a mare perchance? Picking up his pace, Thayer stealthily made his way to the source of his disturbance; a fae and another brute could be seen in the vicinity of his eyesight. He hesitated for a moment, breaking to a casual, confident walk. Thayer strode straight to the uniquely colored mare, turning on his dark charm. Hello there beautiful. May I help you on this fine day? He ignored the other stallion, not threatened by him. Swishing his long, black banner, he stood proudly, high above both equines.

Sil nickered. Yes, i am Light. Are you searching for a herd? He walked up, rubbing against the tree. Seeing Thayer trot up, he groaned up, then reared and screamed. Begone, Dark plague! Spinning to Aspen, he spoke quickly. That's Thayer, Dark, stealer of mares.

Aspen noticed the Dark stag almost at the same time the Light did. She let out an angry nicker, but answered the Light before anything else. Yes, I am indeed in search of a herd. My name is Aspen. The mare's unique colored coat covered her now quivering muscles. And not in fear, mind you, but in a sort of anger per say. And just what do you want, unworthy brute? She sneered, Aspen had had far to much trouble with these Darks to want to have anything to do with them. The fae pressed her delicate harks against her skull, swishing her banner like tail in annoyance. Apperently this stallion did not plan on leaving. She reared threateningly, teeth bared.

An arrogant air set about him, happy that he did not care, nor wanted to care, that lights tried to disarm him with words. Words are words. They can do nothing. A smirk lightened his maw, amused by the mad little fae. Oh, me? The dark lord? Oh I shall have whatever I want! Thayer looked down at her, height differences apparent. The stag chuckled, not intimidated by her words. If you want to offend me, you'll have to try harder. The stallion winked cockily.

The fae rolled her dark chocolate orbs. Dark lord? She scoffed. I am just sure you rule all of the land around this area. Voice dripping with sarcasm. Aspen shook her head. Pathetic brute. The fae leaned her weight onto one hind leg, cocking the other in a relaxed position. I do not fear you, if that is what you expected. And what is it that you want? She asked a bored tint to her words. Of course, she knew exactly what this stag wanted, Thayer, so he was called. Aspen casually swished her dark colored tail in an irrated way, waiting for whatever the Dark had coming.

The coal black stallion laughed. Of course I do. What do you expect from such a perfect creature? Thayer smirked, irritating lights was one of his favorite things to do. The lithe stallion contemplated for a moment, forelock flying in the light breeze. What do I want? What do you think I want? I want you. His normally I-don't-care voice added a dimension; a husky sound. This stallion took whatever far he could find, it was rare when he gave one up without a fight. This one would be no different.

Perfect creature. Right. Aspen snorted in distaste. Well, you are certainly in for a rude awakening. The fae snapped through her still bared teeth. She trotted around the Dark in taunting circles, sharp daggers tapping against the ground, result of her snappy step. She slid to a stop, the breeze lifting her thick mane slightly. She tossed her head, throwing a quick glance at the gray stag beside her.

He watched boredly as she did her little dance. Are you sure I'm the one that'll be awakened? It clouded his eyes. No matter the gender of the equine, it came to him. They had challenged him and he could not decline. No matter what. The lust for fight coursed through his veins, sharpening his every sense as he waited. He wanted badly to fight, but he would not be the one to start it unless need be.

Why don't you just continue on your merry little way and leave us be, hm? Aspen shook her head, thick mane flopping about her neck. The fae was growing increasingly annoyed with this Dark. She swiped a quick mouthful of the lush grass, chewing through it quickly. The fae bent her head and continued to graze, the stag was merely irrating her, like the summer flies that always came around.

Sil watched the ongoing talk between that beautiful Light mare, and the horrid Dark stallion. Finally, he stomped his feet. Enough! He procided to advance towards Thayer, teeth bared. Go away, and stay away, or i will challenge you to battle! He screamed, kicking out at the black brute.

The stag had almost forgotten that another stallion was in their presence. Startled by the random show of emotion from him, he jumped just a bit. Almost forgot you were there! Thayer relaxed again, standing normal now. He contemplated this, highly tempted by the thought of a fight. If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you got. His conformation made so that the threat kick from the stag did not connect. Thayer snorted in distaste. Save it for the battle field! He sure would. He would give his all in any battle.

Aspen watched the Light's confrontation of the other brute for a moment, listening to their sharp words. The fae let out a huffy sigh and voiced her own opinion. Think about it Dark. Do you really want an annoying little mare like me around? She gave the brute a look if obvious distaste. After all, what good is a disobedient fae? Aspen's gaze flicked from the gray stallion to the horrid Dark standing before her.

She was right. He had no words. What could he do with a little sprite like her? Keeping her in line wouldn't be worth the trouble. Your a lucky vixen...I don't want you now. Harks relaxed to the side, happiness dulled. Thayer sighed, lazily setting off the guard his borders again, staying close, on the edge of them. The stag had kept warning the lights of a rebellion. Well he didn't warn this one. He didn't want to give too much of a warning. It would come soon. He could tell.

A smirk formed on Aspen's maw, she couldn't help it even though her bold, cocky personality had often dragged her into trouble. Not that she couldn't fight it off or make a run for it. After all, the fae hadn't come across an equine yet that could out run her. But, the Dark she had just encountered looked pretty speedy. Whatever. Good riddance. She spat the words out, quite exasperated as the over confident aura of the Dark, Thayer, according to th other. The mare shook her head, arching her neck slender neck. Aspen flicked her tail and turned back to the gray stallion. There are far to many of them around. The fae muttered stiffly. Aspen bent and nibbled at some of the lush grass growing at her feet.

Sil stared after the departing darkness. That is for sure. One minute we're all hanging out together, the next HE starts taking mares, even my lead mare. It was devastating. However, we defeated him, and have kept our guard up ever since. He looked towards her. My herd is Silverlight, in the Arrowheads. Would you like to join us?

Aspen's harsh look softened as the Dark stag sauntered away. The mare turned around to face Silverpelt. The nerve of them. She shook her head. Rolling her weight onto one hind leg, Aspen continued to speak. Yes, it would be nice to join a herd. The fae had been on her own for too long, probably mostly due to her bold and stubborn temperment. She shifted back into her normal stance, waiting for the stallion to lead.
