Overall
All posts must be at least 30 words.
Keep all swearing to ic, not ooc
Respect others to gain respect
No stealing html, pics, etc.
The word of the administrators is final
Do not harass or offend another player
No power playing/godmoding except for the rare occassions (states here in the rules) that it says its allowed.
Graphic breeding is strictly forbidden
You cannot steal, raid, or challenge a stallion whose player is on the away list
There is no character limit, however 20 horses is the 'safe limit.' Having over 20 means that they might be killed in a natural disaster assuming you aren't keeping every single one of them active.
There is, however, a stallion limit. Only one stallions are allowed to be created from scratch or adopted by any one player, this does not extend to stallions you breed or older stallions from before this rule change. This is to keep the stallion : mare ratio more realistic.
Characters have to be accepted! Don't forget that.
Obey all the rules ^_^
Joining Characters
Fill out all the form *unless it is not applicable to your horse such as foals or their herd*
Be as realistic as possible. Do some research into the breed of your character (no pure Arabian is 17hh).
You must wait to have your character accepted, once it is it will be locked and moved into the Index.
Keep in mind pictures are not required, but if you want to have a picture for your horse you must have the picture match the horses description. *if we can tell the horse is an Arabian stallion by the picture then don't say he is a quarter horse mare.*
Don't steal pictures or take credit for pictures unless you can prove without a doubt that it is in fact your work. Just don't.
Activity/The Away List
If you can get on for at least ten minutes every three days (long enough to block sneaks/check challenges) then you should not be on the away list. If we notice you are on the list and are on that often you will be removed from the list.
A territory must have one post (whether its by the lead stallion, a mare, an outsider, etc) every two weeks to be considered active.
Any inactive territories can be claimed.
Banning/Punishment
We won't hesitate to give verbal warnings to people. If somebody constantly breaks the rules banning is a possibility.
Breaking certain rules may result in some of your rights being revoked (profile permissions, pm permission...)
Breaking other rules will result in warnings. You will get as many warnings as it takes to fill up your warning bar, at which point you will be banned for a time.
Banning is meant to be permanent. We might make exceptions if it was a minor thing that got you banned but the mods will be the ultimate judge of that.
We will not consider unbanning someone before one month of the person being banned.
Horses In General
Must always follow the directions of their superiors.
Must always follow the rules of the land they are living in/visiting.
Mature at age three.
Officially adults at age five.
Stallions
May only own one territory unless given permission otherwise.
Can have unlimited mares.
Lead chooses herd details and whether they accept betas, gammas, etc.
Cannot be geldings...period.
Mares
When first joined/free, they can go to any place.
They cannot own a terra unless they inherit one from a male relative/horse.
Must go with whatever stallion that claims them. If a mare is fought for, she must go with the stallion that wins.
Cannot be joined infertile unless special permission is given.
Mares must follow the orders of their stallion, but there is a very fine line. If she's smart enough to find a way around orders, then more power to her.
Stats
Everything that is required for stats. Foal stats are chosen by the mare, but the foal's gender and whether or not the mare has twins relies on a coin toss by the moderators and admin. All stats are permanent (except for age and, on some occasions, names). Do not lose or change them.
Breeding
Can breed at any time, foals can only be a result during season (spring and autumn).
No graphic breeding!
All force breeding will result in a coin toss (unless both people ooc agree on an outcome). If the player of a mare really does not want a foal then just ask- we can be reasonable. However, don't ask every time and expect to always get what you want.
Coin Tosses are run by the moderators. They decide the gender of the foal and any other details like that. The mods know what to do.
Force breeding is one of the only times power playing is allowed.
Breeding takes place in any breeding grounds.
If a mare is bred during the breeding season, regardless of whether it results in a foal, she must go with the stallion that bred with her (unless the stallion does not want her, is homeless, or she is already owned by another).
Post in Coin Toss for the moderators to tell you whether the foal will be a boy or girl.
Do not forcebreed a character if the player is against forcebreeding.
Foals/Aging
Foals do not need to be accepted, however they must have a bio. If there is a problem with the foal you will be notified with a post on the bio and a PM.
Foals age in half time. They mature at age of 3.
Officially independent of their mother at age two.
Colts are free to leave home at age two.
Fillies generally have to ask permission to leave.
Anybody ooc can play the foal (mother has first dibs, father has second)
Mares cannot "abort" their foals on purpose. Accidents/harsh treatment by others can cause a foal to be born prematurally and possibly stillborn. If you play a mare that has been impregnated you can make her to go into labor prematurely and have stillborns; don't abuse this though.
Mares are free to choose the foal stats, but a moderator chooses the gender.
Fighting
Failure to follow these rules can lead to you no longer being able to challenge with your characters (can still be challenged by others).
Stallions can fight for mares, territories, or a higher position (if the lead allows this).
Stallions can fight for up to five mares (foals count as one with their dam).
Mares can fight for freedom and/or their foals’ freedom.
If a mare fights a stallion, 20 pts are taken off of her score due to gender disadvantages.
Unlimited posts in a fight, but we don't like judging long fights, okay?
One full dodge, unlimited "half" dodges, on average.
Original person challenging sets battle stats (locations, time of day, prize(s), who attacks first, etc. can NOT alter the ooc rules, such as the amount of time they have to reply, etc.).
If the battle becomes inactive for 7 days, last person to post (in character) wins.
If a stallion asks for help from one of his allies they both cannot fight their opponent at the same time unless the opponent agrees to it or he also has an ally aiding him. Keep in mind the 7 day rule applies to all participants. However, one ally of the loser may challenge the victor up to one time after the initial fight (that's to keep it fair so the same stallion isn't constantly having to take on a stallion after each fight).
SCORES: Score is based off of the following (PP= Possible Points).
. Length- 10pp
. Spelling- 10pp
. Strength- 20pp
. Realism- 20pp
. Attack- 20pp
. Defense- 20pp
(TOTAL PP= 100).
Sneaking
Failure to follow these rules can lead to you no longer being able to sneak with your characters (can still be snuck from by others).
Stallions can sneak for up to two mares from one person at a time, limit two people.
Can sneak for a territory but its not recommended unless the leader is inactive.
Lead mares can block themselves and their foals.
Mares can sneak for freedom and/or their foals freedom.
Once a stallion has made an unsuccessful sneak, they must wait a week before sneaking that mare again.
Sneaks must be decipherable and must have hints as to what you are sneaking for and from whom.
Stallions can only block for half their herd or the majority if the herd is an odd number (ex: Blocks mare A, B, C (3/6) OR A, B, C, D (4/7).
If a stallion blocks mares A, B, and C, but you were sneaking for mare D, then you don’t have to wait for the three days to be over. A moderator will check to see if it’s valid.
Sneaks must be in riddle/poem form.
Must wait three days, if the person you are sneaking from does not block by then, say who it was for and a mod will declare it valid/invalid.
Cannot sneak for something somebody is already challenging for.
If you are going to cancel a sneak then you must still post who the sneak was for with the reasoning of your sneak. Also, when you are asked to reveal who/what your sneak is for (whether it was invalid/valid) you must reveal the reasoning of your sneak as well (how each line related to what you were sneaking for, etc.)
Raiding
Raiding is allowed (but not if the player of the stallion is away). Raiding can not occur in a thread that hasn't been active in 2+ weeks or in threads that have been closed. Failure to follow these rules can lead to you no longer being able to raid with your characters. Powerplay is allowed here, too. Raiding is any/all of the following:
Invading another stallions terra and force breeding with the mares (no limit, you cannot force breed a mare if the stallion is present, meaning there is a thread going on between them.) If the breeding is successful, and the stallion doesn't reply in three days saying he somehow confronted/kicked you out, the mare is yours.
Going in and taking a mare- this is done by replying to a mare (is allowed if the stallion is present, aka: a thread is going on between the stallion and the mare you are trying to take) and saying you attempt to herd her towards your home. If the stallion does not reply saying he stops you in three days then she is yours
All posts must be at least 30 words.
