A small figure could be seen grazing, the sunlight made her dark gold coat shimmer. She was small in size but big in heart and she was a mare that you didn't want to piss off. Cryssy was glad to be out of the cold harsh wind of the mountains, it made bad memories of the past resurface. The wind picked up and the scent of the King drifted into her nostrils and her harks danced around listening for his footfalls.

Vivian was taking a nice stroll in his land. His nose told him a mare was awaiting his presence. At the mention of a mare, Vivian's mind drifted to Gold. Also a picture of her foal Treasure flew in too. A smile played on his lips. He was in a good mood, feeling proud. He already had his Queen. The humid warm air greeted him in a pleasurable manner, and he felt light headed. He walked over to the mare, his eyes sparking. "You rang? I'm the King, Vivian. What might I call you." Vivian said in a polite manner. ((OOC: Don't forget the herd meeting! ^^))

Cryssy dipped her head in respect to the king but did not bow. "My name is Midnight All That Glitters, but call me Cryssy." She made sure to keep her voice polite just as his had been. "I have been looking for a place to call home and this looked like a good place."She raised her head and continued "I wish to stay here as the lead mare," She looked Vivian strait in the eyes now, unafraid "but I warn you, I do not bow down. I will not act like I am a piece of trash compared to you or any other. I will give you the respect, but no more." She didn't know if he would let her stay or not, but what she had said was the truth, she would never bow to anyone. If he had a problem with the way she was(as most did), then she would continue on.

Vivian looked at the mare, surprised by her response. Interesting name. The thought ran through Vivian's head. He smiled at her. He held her eye contact. "Very well. I shall expect respect but nothing more as I see your point. You'll make a great leader." Vivian said with a dip of his head. His herd was growing by the second, and it made him pleased. He held her eye contact. Vivian respected the mare, she reminded him of his own mother. Just as feisty. But this mare had a good attitude for lead mare, not letting anyone get the best of her, and demanding respect. He could tell that the other mares would respect her, but if not, Cryssy could hold her own. Vivian couldn't think of anyone better to be the lead mare.

Cryssy once again bowed her head, but this time in thanks. "Thank you, and i'll try to help get more herd members as well." She was happy that these nice warm lands would now be her home. She had never truly had a home before, always drifting around to different places. She wondered who she could find to join the herd, and she came up blank. The lands of DBL once flourished with equines, but now there were only five herds, two of which had not been seen for quite a while. The lands were in hard time right now when it came to equines.

"Very well. Now please tell me more about yourself." Vivian said smiling. She was glad this mare was eager to find equines. Most equines had disappeared which made Vivian perplexed. Where had they gone? But Vivian shook his head, He grimaced. The fight for Empress has been grueling to him. He had a few scratches, but he hid them from Gold pretending nothing was wrong. The last thing he wanted her to think is that he couldn't handle himself. He couldn't pain Gold in that way. He hoped Treasure would find some new foals, as she was so lonely. He turned waiting for Cryssy to follow.

"Well, not much to tell. I come from the mountains far north, beyond the lands of DBL. Where the winters are freezing and the summers are sweltering." Cryssy had to say, she sure didn't miss that place. She would get all fluffy because of the cold every year, and she hated the fluffy, it made her look fat.

"Ah, well you're a tough one. It's good to have you." Vivian said with a small dip of his head, smiling. He felt a little bad for the mare, but she seemed strong enough, also willed. Vivian's bay features stuck out against the contrasting green.

A few weeks later...
Cryssy was feeling restless, she walked into the thick confines of the lush forest, her legs giving out. The pain jolted through her, she knew what was happening.
A few hours later...
A chestnut colt stood beside her, drinking his fill. It was a cool spring morning, but the colt was lively and boisterous. Cryssy smiled down at the foal, "I think I'll name you Duram"
The colt stood on wobbly stilts, but was oddly sure footed, only stumbling once. His coat was fluffy and soft, it kept him safe from the cool morning air. He blinked his chocolate orbs and looked at his surroundings.
