Montana Gold slowly meandered through a meadow, her spotted golden pelt covered in the shadows of night. She was very slow, full of the foal she would give birth to soon, perhaps in only a few weeks. Perhaps only a few days. Or even hours. Breathing heavily, she lumbered out of one valley, and paused on the rim of it, gazing around. The sky began to lighten, as she felt yet another firm kick in her. The little one was certainly ruly this morning. Gold beheld the sun arising, marveling in it's goldness. The sky brightened, the clouds were bathed in light, almost glowing, it seemed. The landscape began to reveal itself, and while she enjoyed the sunrise and the lovely green landscape, with it's thin blue ribbons of rivers and lakes, that was not what she was looking for. Horses. A good stallion. A safe, loving stallion. Her foal would need a herd, but nothing would stop her from avoiding nasty pain-loving stallions.
After walking for a time, and feeling more kicks, Gold lay down, on soft green grass, during the afternoon. She was greatly nervous, when she realized the kicking was getting worse, and occurring more often. She strained and stretched and endured. She whinnied when the pain grew, but kept pushing out the bulky foal. She was quite frightened but continued. Finally, the pressures stopped! Gold was exhausted. She lifted her head, relieved that the foal was out. Up she rose, and began licking the little thing, after swiftly biting through the umbilical cord. A filly... she thought, as she looked over the little one. Her color was black, and she had the shape mostly of an arabian, but with a scattering of spots. I name thee Treasure, Montana Treasure. Come, rise little Treasure, drink.
Little Treasure wobbled a bit, but was a strong young thing, and was soon able to drink her mother's sweet milk. Then she tottered around, gaining practice, before she lay down to rest.

Nikko slugged around the land, stiffly picking up each foot and laying it down in front of the other. It wasn't that he was too old, too slow, no not at all. It was just that he was too lazy. Too lazy to make the extra effort to have a nice long stride, bouncing up and down. The sky flashed across the land, like the land was playing hide-and-seek. Now you see it, now you don't.
Nikko slowly walked around the land, taking his time, searching for mares. He heard a whinny and his ears pricked up. He took a few forward steps. Hello? His voice boomed over the land, which light up again from the sky. He picked up the pace and trotted to where he heard the whinny. Soon, his hooves took him to a little foal and mare.
Nikko cleared his throat. Hello, my name is Nikko. Why are you here? He glimpsed at the little filly next to the mare.

[glow=red,2,300][/glow] [shadow=red,left,300][/shadow] Sienna, the amber caspian filly was shimming through the brush of the forest, she heard a whinny, and it was in pain. She started to trot toward the sound of the whinnied pain, but very cautiously. She saw the mare giving birth so she took a few steps back. Soon the foal slid from the body of the mare and the mare named it. Sienna started to walk forward, but as she was one step away from being truly seen, her legs buckled and she fell. Her body hit the earth with a sickening thud, she lay there unconscious, the force of the earth on her head made her ¥oung brain rattle and hurt so much it deemed unconscious.

Gold leaped up tiredly, baring her teeth at the stallion. What dolt of a stallion would come near a mare, not of his herd, giving birth? She took a defensive stand between him and her beautiful new foal. I am Montana Gold. I am looking for a Light Stallion to live with. Are you of the Light or the Dark? Suddenly she heard a THUD. She turned her fine head towards the sound, and trotted, with Treasure beside her, though wobbly, over to the location of the sound. There in the forest scrub lay a filly, quite young, but could she be old enough to survive without a dam? And the poor thing was unconsious. Poor litle thing. She gave the filly a lick or two, then began licking her own daughter more, keeping the little one clean.

Vivian's bay coat streaked across the green landscape. He had his ears pinned back, enjoying the rush of adrenaline. He had come in search for herd members, knowing that many horses still wandered. He stopped when he smelled a mare, two fillies, and a stallion. He smelled blood, and heard the mare whinny neigh out in pain. He thought the stallion was hurting the mare. He continued running until he reached the mare. She could see she was just giving birth. His face washed with relief. He then walked up a couple steps, and saw a stallion walk right up to the mare. He shook his head in disgust. Who does that to a recent new mother? He kept his distance but whinnied warmly, knowing that the mare would be protective. He saw another filly, who looked older. He could see the mare jump at the stallion. He carefully walked slowly, showing she meant no harm to the mare, or her filly. He then cleared his throat. "Hello I'm Vivian. I'm, a light stallion looking for some herd members. I'm sure you and your foal would be a great addition. Also, the other little foal." He said warmly, a smile stretching across his face.

Gold raised her head at the new stallion. Light, eh? Good. And he had the sense to keep his distance. She highly doubted the other stallion was Light, being to lazytp walk and approaching er after giving birth. And he was looking for herd members! She quivered with excitement as she examined him. Hello. I am Montana Gold. I am of the Light also. She smiled a horse smile. It looks like you have wits better than that jughead. As she ended the sentence, she turned her head to the first head and grimaced. As for the other filly, i do not know her, but when she wakes we will see. If she is Light, she will be welcome to stay with me. And this is Montana Treasure. You can call us Gold and Treasure though.

"Very well. It's been pleasant chatting with you! Shall we get going. It might take a bit as I know your foal is new. But I don't mind." Vivian said with a small smile. The more he wandered the more curious he got, how do horses without herds go about. But he ignored that question, and smiled warmly again. He could tell she was going to be protective, and didn't rush to her. He waited for her to follow, knowing she might want to keep her distance. She didn't want to push the mare anymore. He could tell she was a little nervous with a new foal, and he kept caution. His ears in a friendly stance, he nickered softly to the foal. He could see the unconsious filly, and didn't want to leave her behind. He went over to nuzzle her, to see if she'd wake up.

Gold walked after Vivian, not acting hostile, but keeping herself between him and Treasure. She walked up to the filly, nosing her, then bent her head down and rubbed against the belly. Ahh, the heatbeat. She's alive. I don't know when she'll awaken, however. I think if she comes to soon, she can follow our scent if she wants to. Gold turned to him and walked closer, inhaling the scent of her new stallion.

Vivian smiled then nodded. "Very well. Lets get going!" Vivian said cheerfully. He swished his tail, and respected the distance between him and the foal. He didn't mid, knowing she was only taking a precaution. He nickered again. He couldn't wait to get to know the mare better, and get to play with the foal a bit. He knew it would be a while until the mare let him even smell her foal, but eventually he would gain her trust. He just kept moving staying slow enough for the foal to keep up. His mane and tail flew behind him, in a rippling flow. He smiled again, and could feel how happy he was. His first two herd members. ((OOC:Post here, to claim Gold, and Treasure's ranks in the herd. If you want her to be queen, they'll have to get a couple thread.
