Duram raced after the other colt, but he was not as good in the flat out speed department, he was built to turn and weave, not to just run. Once hitting the creek, the chestnut colt splashed in the water, sending droplets everywhere.

Adagio splashed in river a few minutes longer, then hoped out, shaking his mane. Laughing, the taller colt darted swiftly around a tree just for the fun of it. Unfortunately for Adagio, the colt tripped on his gangly legs and fell on his rump before sprawling out completely on his side, a look of bewilderment on his tiny face. He quickly got himself upright and returned to the stream, taking long drink.

Duram was now soaked from head to toe. As Adagio calmed down so did the chestnut colt. Duram leaned down and sniffed the water, not really thirsty.

Adagio pulled his face from the cool, blue liquid. He shook his little head, sending droplets flying from his damp maw. He bounced around for a bit, then getting a bit bored, he trotted to his mother's side. He stretched his head down and nibbled at the grass, not really eating it, but chomping of the tips before spitting them back otu again, damp and soggy.

Duram still had energy, so when he spotted a small fallen branch, he bounded over to it and jumped it. He started going back and forth, making a game.

Curious now that the other colt had found a new game, Adagio trotted over, head snapping back and forth, back and forth as he watched the Duram jump over the stick. Deciding it might be fun to join in, Adagio trotted over and leaped up and over the branch landing lightly on slender legs. He spotted a dead leaf hanging of one of the twigs and a snatched it up, curious as to how it would taste. It crunched only once, to his disappointment, and fell into tiny pieces inside his maw. Also to his great disappointment, it tasted awful as well. Adagio quickly spat it out and slurped up some water from the creek before returning to their little jump.

Duram laughed as the other colt spat the leaf out in pieces and went to go clean his maw. He continued to back and forth, but looked funny because he was over jumping the branch by a good foot.

Getting tired of such a low obstacle, Adagio looked around, searching for something higher. A few yards away, the colt spotted a fairly good sized log, maybe a foot or so high. Perfect for a little foal. Adagio took off toward it and leaped easily over it. He landed, thrilled he had found a new jump, and continued with the same game as before.
